Why I Call My Bags Heavy Duty

Why I Call My Bags Heavy Duty - Stormcrow Overland

There is so much marketing behind terms like “heavy duty” "military spec” and “hard use.”  In most of those cases those words really don't mean much of anything.

Even the first sewing machine I bought was marketed as “Heavy Duty” but in reality it was still limited by some critical parts being made out of plastic, and was not able to be readily repaired if something wore out or broke.

Knowing I was going to start making and selling bags, pouches, and accessories aimed at the overland and outdoor adventure market, I knew they had to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.  They had to be able to live up to actual hard use.

What makes my bags stand out from cheaper alternatives is two fold: the quality of the materials and how they are constructed.  All of my bags (except any ultralight variants) use either 500d or 1000d Cordura nylon, combined with strong nylon bonded thread designed for bag making.  My products are also made different.  Where lesser bags might have a zipper held on by a single row of stitches, mine are all attached with multiple rows for extra durability.  Same with the seams and corners, they are all reinforced to better resist wear and tear.

Short version, if I’m going to call my stuff heavy duty, it’s going to really be heavy duty.
